Uttar Pradesh schools to remain closed till January 30

The Uttar Pradesh government on Saturday extended the closure of schools in the state until January 30 due to rising coronavirus cases in the state.

School closures have been extended until January 30 and online classes will continue, according to an order issued by Additional Chief Secretary (House) Awanish Kumar Awasthi.

The government had previously ordered the closure of educational establishments until January 23 due to an increase in Covid cases.

18,554 new COVID cases reported in UP in past 24 hours

In the past 24 hours, 18,554 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Uttar Pradesh, Supplementary Chief Secretary (ACS) for Health Amit Mohan Prasad informed on January 20. . “18,554 cases of COVID-19 have been reported in Uttar Pradesh in the past 24 hours. 19,328 people have been discharged. There are 97,329 active cases, of which 94,529 patients are in home isolation. Over 1,300 patients are admitted to hospital,” the ACS said.
