Corona +ve candidates can appear in UPTET but, candidates demanded on Twitter PostponeUptet2021

Applicants who test positive for Covid-19 will be allowed to participate in the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (UPTET) to be held on 23rd January (Sunday).

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to make separate arrangements for applicants who test positive for Covid-19. Authorities have also been asked to set up a Covid care center at each exam center, he said.

“To ensure the fairness of the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET), all necessary security measures must be taken. Incidents such as paper leaks will not be acceptable at all. For any trouble or untoward incident, the DM, BSA, in charge of the test center, all will be held accountable,” the CM’s office tweeted.

UPTET-2021 was canceled on November 28 last year, after a leak of paper was revealed, following which several people were arrested hours before the exam. Some senior officials from the Prayagraj exam regulatory body were also found guilty in a subsequent investigation by the state government.

To maintain the integrity of the exam, the Additional Chief Secretary, Hospitality, Additional Chief Executive Officer, Law and Order, Principal Secretary, Basic Education, as well as District Magistrates, basic education officials, and other relevant officials, were invited to review the arrangements via videoconference.

The Chief Minister also instructed the officials that the track record of the institutes must be considered before setting up a test center. He said that institutions with a dubious image should not become examination centers at all. The result of UPTET-2021 will be announced on February 25. The exam would take place in two shifts – from 10 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. for primary school teachers and from 2.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. for upper primary teachers.

All preparations should be checked for the systematic conduct of the TET on January 23, he said.
