Telangana will reopen colleges and schools from July 1

All educational institutions, including schools and colleges in Telangana, will reopen from July 1. Students will be allowed to take physical classes under strict COVID-19 precautions. Detailed guidelines regarding the same will be issued by the state government shortly.

The announcement came after the state government lifted the region’s lockdown from June 20. The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao as the positivity rate in Telangana continues to decline.

With the reopening of educational institutions, the Cabinet asked the Department of Education to prepare instructions and guidelines on compulsory student attendance, online courses and other related matters and publish them as soon as possible. .

Telangana is among the first states to reopen schools. Schools across India have been closed since mid-March 2020 and classes have continued in online mode since then. The Education Department also released guidelines for parents on Saturday to support home education.
