South Africa beat India in the first ODI

South Africa vs India 1st ODI: In the first ODI played at Boland Park, Paarl, South Africa beat India by 31 points. With that, the host team took a 1-0 lead in the three-game series. South Africa scored 296 for four in 50 overs after playing first. In response, Team India could only score 265 runs in overs allowed.

After the batsmen, the bowlers also played brilliantly for South Africa. Lungi Ngidi, Tabraiz Shamsi and Andile Phehlukwayo took two wickets each. On the other hand, Keshav Maharaj and Aiden Markram got one hit each.

Half centuries of Dhawan and Kohli transformed water

Chasing the target of 297 runs from South Africa, the Indian team received the first blow in the form of captain KL Rahul. Rahul came out after scoring 12 points on 17 balls. He was caught behind the wicket by Aidan Markram.

After that, King Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan shared a 92-run partnership. Dhawan scored 79 points on 84 balls with the help of 10 fours. Meanwhile, Kohli went 51 runs on 63 balls with the help of three fours.

As soon as those two came out, the middle order fell apart like a deck of cards. Meanwhile, Rishabh Pant 16, Shreyas Iyer 17, Venkatesh Iyer 02 and Ravichandran Ashwin were dismissed for seven points.

In the end, Shardul Thakur went an unbeaten run of 50 runs on 43 balls. But he could only reduce the margin of defeat. Thakur hit five fours and a six. On the other hand, Jasprit Bumrah came back undefeated on 14 points in 23 balls.

By opting to bat after winning the toss, South Africa got off to a terrible start. Flyhalf Janneman Malan returned to the clubhouse for just six points. After that, the host team received a second hit for 58 runs. This time, Quinton de Kock was absent. He scored 27 points on 41 balls with the help of two fours. After that Aidan Markram was exhausted for 4 races.

Temba Bavuma and Rasi van der Dussen managed the innings after three wickets fell for just 68 runs in the 18th and took the side to a tough scoreline. Bavuma marked the second century of his ODI career. At the same time, Dussen also marked his second ODI century.

Captain Temba Bavuma scored 110 points. On the other hand, Rassie van der Dussen scored an undefeated 129. Bavuma hit eight fours and faced 143 balls in his century. Meanwhile, Dussen hit 9 fours and four sixes in his 96-ball innings.

Bavuma and Dusen shared a record partnership of 204 runs for the fourth wicket. This is the second highest partnership for fourth wicket against India in ODIs. While David Miller went undefeated over two runs.

Jasprit Bumrah took two wickets for 48 runs in 10 overs for India. While Ravichandran Ashwin has made a breakthrough. He gave up 53 runs in his 10 overs. On the other hand, Shardul Thakur, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Yuzvendra Chahal did not achieve any success. He gave 72, 64 and 53 points respectively.
