Ram Temple Trust accused of land fraud: Shiv Sena asks for clarification; Cong says “sin” to cheat in the name of the Lord

“Lord Ram and the fight for the Ram mandir is a matter of faith for us. For some, it is a political matter. The Ram Temple Trust formed for the construction of the temple should clarify if the allegations are true or false,” Raut told the media.

Mumbai / New Delhi: Claiming that building the Ram Temple is a matter of faith for the people, Shiv Sena leader Raut on Monday asked the Ram Janmabhoomi Trust for clarification amid allegations of corruption in land purchased by the trust in Ayodhya.

Raut described as “shocking” the allegations made by Aam Aadmi Party MP Sanjay Singh in connection with the affair.

“Lord Ram and the fight for the Ram Mandir is a matter of faith for us. For some, it is a political question. The Trust formed for the construction of the temple should clarify whether the allegations are true or false, ”Raut told media.

Stating that the temple’s “bhoomipujan” ceremony was also attended by Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Shiv Sena MP said “they should also speak “on the matter.

“The temple of Ram is a matter of faith. People donated by faith. Even the Shiv Sena had contributed Rs one crore to the Trust, ”said Raut.

“If the money raised by faith is misused, then what is the point of having faith? We need to know what’s going on. We need to know whether the allegations are true or false, ”he added.

“Misuse of donations insulting the faith”

The Congress Party also commented on the issue with party secretary general Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying that the misuse of donations by worshipers is a sin.

“Millions of people made their offerings at the feet of God out of faith and devotion. The misuse of these donations is unfair and constitutes a sin and an insult to their faith, ”she wrote on Twitter in Hindi.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, for his part, said cheating on behalf of Lord Ram was “unfair”.

“Shri Ram himself is justice, truth, religion. Cheating on his behalf is unfair! #Ram Mandir Scam, ”he said in a Hindi article.

Chief Congressman Randeep Surjewala for his part cornered the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and demanded a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the matter.

“Ram is our lifelong worship. Cheating in the name of Lord Ram is a great sin. The Prime Minister’s response, ”he tweeted in Hindi.

Allegations

The remarks came as AAP MP Rajya Sabha, Sanjay Singh, and Samajwadi party leader Pawan Pandey on Sunday launched allegations of corruption in the purchase of land for the Ram temple premises in Ayodhya.

The duo alleged that the general secretary of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, Champat Rai, had purchased land worth Rs 2 crore at an inflated price of Rs 18.5 crore.

Calling it a money laundering case, the two leaders called for an investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into the purchase of land for the temple premises.
