IPL Phase2 2021, MI VS CSK: Hitman is just 3 sixes away from becoming the First Indian Batsman to hit 400 six in T20 cricket

New Delhi: Mumbai Indians Captain Rohit Sharma nears a milestone in the 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) Phase 2. If Rohit Sharma manages to hit three sixes against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in today’s match he becomes the first Indian batsman to hit 400 six in T20 cricket for India.

Under Rohit Sharma, the Mumbai Indians have won the IPL title record five times and he is the most successful captain in tournament history. In the first phase of IPL 14, when the two teams faced off, the Mumbai Indians emerged victorious against the Chennai Super Kings.

So far in T20 cricket, Rohit Sharma has reached a total of 397 sixes. Only four Indian players have reached over 300 sixes in T20 cricket. After Rohit, Suresh Raina reached 324 six, followed by Virat Kohli (315 six). CSK skipper MS Dhoni reached 303 six.

Rohit Sharma touched 224 IPL sixes out of a total of 397 sixes during his T20 career. In IPL, Rohit hit 173 six for the Mumbai Indians and the remaining 51 six of his IPL career came in IPL’s first three seasons when he was playing for the Deccan Chargers. The star opener played for India, India A, and the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Most Six-Hit Batsmen in T20 Cricket: Self-proclaimed “Boss of the Universe” Chris Gayle of the West Indies tops the list of most-six hitters in T20 cricket with 1,042 sixes. He is followed by Kieron Pollard in second with 755 sixes. In third place is Andre Russell, who has managed a total of 509 sixes in T20 cricket. Rohit Sharma is in 8th place on the list of top six hitters.
