India To Get Completely Vaccinated-New Delhi: All Indians are expected to be vaccinated against COVID-19 by the end of the year, the center told the Supreme Court on Monday morning, as it faces many unwelcome questions about national vaccination policy and the decision to approve the price of vaccines.
The Supreme Court – inquiring about a vaccine policy criticized for different prices, shortages, and slower exemptions – asked the institute why it provides countries with 100 percent of the required prices for a 45+ age group, but only 50 percent of those needed for 18- people. 44.
“For every 45 people, the center buys (antiretrovirals) but in 18-44 there is a division of supply – 50 percent is available in the provinces by manufacturers and the price is set by the center, and the rest is given to private hospitals. Why is this a (real) foundation? for this? “asked the court.
“Your reason was the high death rate in the 45+ group (but) in the second wave this group was not significantly affected … it was 18-44. If the goal is to get treatment, why should the center only buy more than 45?” a three-member bench of Judges DY Chandrachud, LN Rao and Ravindra Bhat asked.
The court also applauded the central government over “digital diversity”, saying that requiring people to register on the CoWIN digital platform before acquiring a firearm would hamper vaccination efforts in rural areas, where internet access was unreliable.

“Everyone has to sign up for CoWIN (but) in digital divisions … Is it really possible to expect (people) from rural areas to sign up for COWIN?” asked the court.
The response was: “Residents can go to computer centers and register … and they will be vaccinated”, the court repeated its question: “Is this really possible?” and pointed out that immigrant workers traveling from one state to another were unlikely to attain that level of access.
