The CBSE had previously canceled the Class 10 board exams and announced an alternative scoring policy. According to the policy, while 20 points for each subject will be for internal assessment as every year, 80 points will be calculated on the basis of student performance on tests or exams throughout the year.

The weighting in terms of maximum marks for schools that have carried out the tests and exams throughout the year will be periodic test/unit test (10 points), semester exam (30 points), and pre-boarding exams (40 points). For Class 10, schools have been asked to submit tabulated scores by June 30 and the result is expected to be reported in July.
