Bengal Yet To Relieve- The center, to our surprise, on Friday sought the help of Alapan Bandyopadhyay and called on the country’s government to immediately release the chief executive.
Kolkata: West Bengal Secretary-General Alapan Bandyopadhyay, who said his sudden sentence from the pre-retirement day was a major issue, is unlikely to report to the Department of Labor and Training on Monday, as the state government has yet to receive it.
Mr Bandyopadhyay was present at the secretary general’s office “Nabanna” on Sunday, he said.

“So far, Mr Bandyopadhyay has not been released from office by the West Bengal government … According to the next schedule, he is likely to take part in a review session to be chaired by the CM at the country’s secretary’s office at 3pm,” a source told PTI.

Bengal Yet To Relieve- surprisingly, on Friday night had sought the services of Mr Bandyopadhyay and called on the country’s government to immediately release the chief executive.

Mr Bandyopadhyay, the 1987 IAS official of the West Bengal cadre party, was expected to retire on May 31 after completing 60 years. However, he was extended for three months following being offered a position at the Covid administration.
In a statement to the country’s government, the Department of Labor on Friday said the Cabinet Nomination Committee had approved the inclusion of Mr Bandyopadhyay’s services with the Indian Government in terms of the Indian Service Administration Act (cadre), 1954, “immediately”.
It also directed Mr Bandyopadhyay to report to the Department of Labor and Training, North Block, New Delhi at 10am on Monday. Prime Minister Mamata Banerjee on Saturday called the Center’s decision to commemorate Bandyopadhyay “unconstitutional” and “illegal”, and called on the Union government to withdraw its order.
