APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) Vice-Chancellor Professor Vineet Kansal reviewed preparations for the semester exams which will take place from December 28. During the review meeting, instructions were given to conduct the reviews systematically. Approximately 1,10,000 students will take these exams at 122 exam centers set up statewide.
AKTU Media Officer Ashish Mishra Lucknow said: “Exam center coordinators have been ordered to pay close attention to ensure that students do not experience any inconvenience at the exam center.
The superintendents of the examination centers and the directors of the respective institutions have stated that all preparations related to the examination have been completed. “The superintendents of the center ensured that the students would not experience any inconvenience at the examination center,” Mishra said.
Exam controller Prof Anurag Tripathi said compliance with the covid-19 protocol will be ensured at all exam centers. For this, the affiliated establishments were responsible for ensuring thermal control, disinfection, masks, etc.
Students continue to protest
Student protest against offline exams continues. Students require taking an exam online rather than offline. Students claim that so far most colleges have not been able to complete the full program. Offline exams aren’t perfect amid the Omicron threat, and who will be responsible if they get infected? Other than that, students argue that SOPs weren’t taken last year, so taking the online exam is the safest option.
A student told: “We have been demanding an online exam for several days. But there was no response from the university. How can the university play with the lives of more than 2 lakhs of students and their families? The last time the university conducted the offline exam was in February, after which many students became infected with Corona. If we get an infection, who will be responsible?
