UP police arrest two people in Delhi for forcing over 1,000 people to convert to Islam

Noida: UP police arrested two people in the nation’s capital for allegedly forcing more than 1,000 people to change their religion. According to sources, these two people coerced around 1,000 non-Muslims to convert to Islam.

One of the defendants revealed that he resided in the Batala house in Jamia Nagar and that he himself had converted his religion.

UP ADG Law and Order Prashant Kumar told a press conference that there is racketeering in the state forcing people to convert their religion to Islam and that police have arrested two people from Delhi. Kumar confirmed that around 1,000 people have converted their religion so far.

Kumar added that the two people targeted poor families, unemployed youth, and people with disabilities, especially hard of hearing and hard of hearing children, and forced them to change their religion. According to the police, people have been lured into converting their religion for money and financial stability. UP ADG also mentioned that it could be ISI funding for religious conversions.

During the press conference, Prashant Kumar also said that many women were forced to change their religion and were married. Prashant Kumar said the racketeering was operating in Noida, Kanpur, and Mathur.

The accused ran a center called “Dawa Islamic Center” which obtained funds from all over the world. The police are also following the people trapped in this racketeering and investigating further to understand how they influenced people.
