Due to the current situation caused by the sudden increase in the number of cases of COVID-19 due to the second wave of coronavirus in the country, the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) postponed various exams, which were to be held in May and June 2021. On the one hand, the TNPSC Civil Services Exam was due to be held on May 28, 29 and 30 and on the other hand, the TNPSC Combined Engineering Service Exam was scheduled to take place on June 6, 2021. after checking the condition of the coronavirus.

TNPSC advised baptismal candidates to receive the latest updates on the exams. With the Civil Services Exam, TNPSC will fill 69 vacancies and by hosting the Combined Engineering Services Exam, TNPSC will fill 536 vacancies for Junior Draughting Officer, Junior technical Assistant, and Junior Engineer.

To curb the spread of COVID-19, the Tamil Nadu government has announced a state shutdown from May 10 to May 24. The state on Friday reported 26,465 new cases and 197 deaths.

Due to the restrictions imposed by various governments after the outbreak of COVID-19, the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has also postponed a number of employment tests, including the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) exams, which were expected to take place from May 29 to 29. June 7. The Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) test scheduled for May 21 in the West Bengal by-elections has also been postponed by the commission.
