There was a traffic jam on Shaheed Path, taking advantage of which the disbelievers riding in Scorpion broke the strap used to tie the tire and stole it. When the driver learned of it, the thieves fled. The driver informed the police, who attended the scene and opened an investigation.
The driver of the truck said the thieves committed the theft between 12:30 p.m. and 1 a.m., when Shaheed Path was blocked and the truck was also moving very slowly.
DCP East Amit Kumar said the incident occurred on November 27 and the FIR was recorded on December 1. He said the perpetrators would soon be arrested and strict action would be taken against them.
Amit Kumar said the goods were going to Jodhpur from Bakshi-Ka-Talab Air Base and the suspects are being questioned by police. DCP East said 5 Mirage 2000 fighter jet tires were transported from Lucknow Air Base to Jodhpur, one tire of which was stolen. A police investigation is underway in this case.
