Reliance Jio has announced a new feature for JioFiber users that will allow them to use their smart TVs to make video calls.
The telecom giant has announced a new item called “camera on cable”. The feature would allow users to make video calls from their TVs using their Android smartphones, iPhones.
To use this feature, users will need to download the JioJoin app. Jio has recently announced a number of offers for its prepaid users, JioPhone users.
The telecom giant currently offers one purchase, get one free promise on most iPhone apps.
If you are a JioFiber user, you will need to download the JioJoin app from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Post to download the app, users will need to download the 10-digit JioFiber number.
This will allow your phone to be the device to connect to your Jio Fiber connection almost.
Using this feature, users can turn their cell phone into a web camera and place it next to the TV to make video calls.
Video calling is enabled with JioFiber Voice which comes with a lot of JioFiber.
Reliance jio says JioFiberVoice is different compared to the traditional home environment experience.
Once you have entered all the details, you can enable the ‘Camera on Mobile’ feature in the JioJoin app.
This can help you to turn your mobile phone into a webcam. With battery clarity and connectivity, Jio had recommended users to switch to the 5GHz Wi-Fi band on their modems.
The Jio Join app can be downloaded to Android phones running 6.0 and newer iOS 10.0
This feature will benefit Smart TVs that do not come with in-bulit web cameras, but brands like OnePlus and Xiaomi have come up with smart TVs with built-in web cameras.
However, if your TV does not have a webcam, you will not be asked to purchase a new one as you can turn your phone into a webcam using the Jio Join app.
