Class 12 students enrolled in the private, or patriarchal, program of the CBSE and those scheduled to appear for the second time in the compartment tests objected to the board’s decisions to hold exams for them, even he announced on Thursday an alternative assessment policy for regular students. Several students in the private program said on Friday the decision put their future in uncertainty and demanded an alternative endpoint.

Shashwat Anand, 18, a private Class 12 CBSE candidate, said: “How can we predict when the going will become right [for exams]? If the board canceled exams for regular students, why don’t we get the same treatment? Most universities will start admissions as soon as class 12 results are declared. What will we do then? “
Students in the private program are those who are not enrolled in any school but are registered with the CBSE for the Council exams for Classes 10 and 12. Last year, around 30,000 of these students were registered for class exams 12 CBSE. In addition to students who have to take a second compartment test, those who have completed the improvement forms in order to take the test again are also excluded from the new CBSE class 12 assessment formula. Last year, 29,000 students took the Class 12 exams to improve their scores.
Each year, students enrolled in the program take exams with regular students and their results are announced together.
Child rights activist and advocate Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, who previously filed a petition demanding that all board reviews be canceled due to the pandemic, tweeted Friday that she, along with other lawyers, would file an intervention petition on behalf of private and compartment students in the Supreme Search.
The approved mechanism for the CBSE includes a 30:30:40 formula, which takes into account a student’s performance in the last three exams (the 12th pre-selection, the 11th final, and the 10th jury) to come in at a score for the theory component of the exam.
However, CBSE, in its notification, said: “For private, partrachar and 2e chance applicants, etc., the review will be conducted by the Board as conditions become conducive.”
Several students tweeted on Friday using the hashtag #CancelCBSEprivateexam. “We too are CBSE students like those who are enrolled in schools. It shouldn’t spoil our year, ”said Prateek Raghav, another Class 12 private candidate.
Shashank Singh, 19, who finished class 12 last year but applied to sit for further development exams this year, filed an appeal at CBSE headquarters in Preet Vihar on Friday. “Since the CBSE will report the results of regular students before those of private students, universities will admit those who have their results in hand … Please provide equal opportunities for private students to be admitted,” he said in the letter.
CBSE Exam Supervisor Sanyam Bhardwaj said the board would try to find a solution. “We are working on this issue and we will come up with a policy favorable to these students,” he said.
