#PostponeJEEMains2022 demands on Twitter; aspirants worried over JEE Main, board exam dates

#PostponeJEEMains2022 demands on Twitter: The conflict between JEE Mains 2022 and the board exam has swept Twitter. Students studying for their board exams and the Joint Entrance Examination 2022 said the plan to hold JEE Mains 2022 in the middle of the board examinations has them concerned.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced that the JEE Main 2022 will be held on April 21, 24, 25, 29, and May 1, 4, 2022, according to a revised timetable. Board exams will be held at the same time, for example, the CBSE Class 12 Term 2 Exams 2022 will start on April 26, 2022.

While there is no direct conflict between JEE Mains 2022 and board exams, students fear that taking the JEE Mains in the middle of the board examinations will result in bad performance in both.

Students are now requesting that the NTA postpone JEE Mains until at least all major board exams have been completed. Students have been pleading with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan to intervene in order to get a fair conclusion.

The schedule for JEE Main 2022 has been revised by NTA — Here’s why

Several student groups and stakeholders had approached the NTA, requesting adjustments to the JEE Mains exam dates. To avoid a direct collision with the board exams, the representation was submitted. The NTA then decided to push back the JEE Main 2022 examination by a week. Dharmendra Pradhan, the Minister of Education, has been called upon to intervene.

Concerns raised by students about postponing JEE Mains 2022

The JEE Mains were held in four sessions last year. The authorities, on the other hand, have returned to the old format this year. As a result, students have pointed out that two attempts may not be sufficient.

  • Conducting the JEE Mains in the middle of board exams will make it impossible for students to prepare for both at the same time, resulting in poor performance in both.
  • Centers for board exams and JEE Mains may be in different cities, making it impossible for students to travel and return for further exams.
  • Students claim to have prepared for the JEE Mains in four attempts. The last-minute reduction in the number of attempts (from four to two) has created anxiety among students.
  • A group of students has considered dropping out as a result of the abrupt changes, which would have a significant impact on their future careers.
  • There has always been a gap of at least 86 days between the first and last session of JEE Mains, which has been reduced to 19 days this year, leaving little room for corrections in ranks, percentiles, and so on.

According to the official announcement, the JEE Main session 1 will take place from April 16 to 21, and the session 2 will take place from May 24 to 29.

JEE Mains 2022 – What students are demanding

  • In light of the foregoing, students have petitioned the NTA and the education minister to reinstate four JEE Mains attempts.
  • If four attempts are not possible, two attempts should be given after all major board exams have been completed.
  • There should be at least 35 days between the two sessions to allow students from all boards to check their ranks and percentiles.
  • JEE Main 2022 papers will be divided into two sections: A and B. Section A will include multiple-choice questions, while Section B will include numerical-type questions. Candidates will receive four points for each correct response, while one point will be deducted for each incorrect response. As a result, the implementation of negative marking may have an impact on students’ grades.
