Speaking at the “bhoomi poojan” ceremony at the Phase-1 hostel (boys’ hostel), built by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj in Surat, Prime Minister Modi said: “The national education policy offers the possibility of taking professional courses in the local dialect. . “

“Now education is not just about getting a degree but is about skills. The country is also linking its traditional skills with modern possibilities,” he added.

Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel was also present at the event.

The hostel building has residential facilities for approximately 1,500 students. It also contains an auditorium and a library dedicated to students.

Construction of the Phase-II hostel to accommodate approximately 500 girls will begin from next year.

Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj is a registered trust established in 1983 whose main objective is the educational and social transformation of the weakest strata of society.
