Mumbai Rape Case: As per the preliminary probe, the Mumbai police said that the woman had been raped and also assaulted with an iron rod in her private parts.

Mumbai Rape Case: A 30-year-old woman, who was found unconscious at Khairani Road in the Saki Naka area on September 9 after being raped, died during treatment at a civic hospital early on Saturday, police said.

An official revealed that the victim suffered serious injuries to her private parts and that there was severe blood loss during the incident. She had been fighting for life at Rajawadi Hospital since the early hours of Friday, as the PTI news agency reported.

After raping the woman and brutally assaulting her with the rod, the accused also assaulted her with a knife, he said.

In a shocking incident, a 30-year-old woman was raped in a stationary tempo in the Sakinaka district of Mumbai. She suffered serious injuries when a rod was driven into her private parts, police said.

Defendant Mohan Chouhan (45) was arrested hours after the incident, PTI said citing a police official.

He said the police control room received a call in the early hours of Friday that a man was beating a woman on Khairani Road. A police team rushed to the scene to find a woman lying in a pool of blood. She was taken to Rajawadi Municipal Hospital, the official added.

The preliminary investigation revealed that the 30-year-old woman was raped and also assaulted with an iron bar in her private parts. The incident had taken place inside a tempo parked by the side of the road.

Bloodstains were found inside the vehicle. Doctors said the woman’s condition was serious, the official said.

Acting on certain leads, the accused Chauhan was arrested under articles 307 of the IPC (attempted murder) and 376 (rape), and a further investigation was underway, he added according to the report of the PTI.

The shocking rape case is a grim reminder of the December 2012 case in which a young woman, nicknamed “Nirbhaya”, was brutally gang-raped and assaulted inside a moving bus in Delhi, causing a wave of indignation across the country. . She died in hospital after fighting for life for several days.

Meanwhile, pledging to deliver justice, Maharashtra Minister Nawab Malik said: “We will ensure that the indictment is filed within a given time frame and that the case is expedited to bring the accused in court, “ANI reported.

Maharashtra’s chief minister’s office informed that CM Uddhav Thackeray had gathered full information about the rape incident and had spoken to the police commissioner. According to the CMO, he said the case would be dealt with quickly and the victim would get justice. He also ordered the investigation to be speeded up, ANI reported.
