Lucknow University seeks permission from govt to promote UG, PG Students

Lucknow: The University of Lucknow has asked the government to allow it to promote its undergraduate and postgraduate students so that the next course can start on time.

In a letter to the state government, LU registrar Vinod Kumar Singh said, “Only the first semester exams are still open as it could not be held due to the increase in Covid-19 cases. Therefore, the university is requesting permission to promote all students so that the new session can start on time. ”

“We are already rushing the program because of this epidemic. The first semester test to be held in December was scheduled for April. However, it could not be carried out again because of a second wave. Even in the coming months, we do not see the possibility of offline testing due to the high Covid-19 cases,” said a senior LU official.

He said online classes for many semesters have already started. “In the event that students of the first semester have their exams missed, their classes for the next semester will begin soon,” he said.

Last year, the state government had instructed universities to conduct exams for final semester students online, offline or in hybrid mode. All first- and second-year students were promoted on the basis of internal assessment and performance last semester.

The university had promoted all first and second year students while final year exams were conducted offline.
