Latest Updates | Postpone NEET PG 2023: Will Exams Be Postponed?

Supreme Court of India is likely to hear the plea regarding NEET PG 2023 Postponement tomorrow (February 24). The students have filed the plea to postpone the NEET PG 2023 exam, which is currently scheduled for March 5. Medical aspirants are demanding that the exam date should be postponed by 2 to 3 months.

A total of two writ petitions have been filed which demand the postponement of the NEET PG exam. While both petitions remain pending, one has been given a court date. The date, however, has been auto-generated for March 3, 2023. However, due to the urgency of the situation, the matter may be heard tomorrow.

“Whatever I said is correct and shall work for MY JUNIORS. Supreme court is last hope. Supreme Court hearing is on Friday.(tentative). The NMC is not very positive. Shall try to persue @NMC_IND, However @mansukhmandviya Sir can take a firm stand. So pls do,” Dr Rohan Krishnan of the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) said in a tweet

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya had said in Lok Sabha recently that NEET PG 2023 exam will not be postponed. Last week, the Telangana High Court dismissed a plea seeking the postponement of the NEET PG 2023 exam. Many medical aspirants have been asking for the postponement of entrance exams for a while now, complaining that they haven’t had enough time to study for them due to their busy internship schedules.

According to the schedule, the NEET PG 2023 exam is scheduled for March 5 and the results will be released by March 31, 2023. Aspirants are also demanding a postponement of the exam date to reduce the gap between the result declaration and counselling process.

However, due to the recent extension, NEET PG 2023 internship cut-off is now August 11, 2023. Due to this, MCC is expected to commence the counselling process in the month of September. Medical aspirants stated that this gap of 5 to 6 months is disadvantageous for them.
