Latest CBSE News: Students in classes X and XII have been calling for #CBSEgiveBestOfEitherTerms. Here are the views of CBSE.

Latest CBSE News: Class X and XII students of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) have been requesting that the Board select their results based on “best of either terms” rather than the customary plan of including marks for both terms.

Officials from CBSE advised the students to hold off till a notice was posted online. Ms. Sapna, Superintendent at CBSE, told EdexLive that the evaluation criteria had not yet been determined. She continued, saying that as a result, they are unable to speak at this time.

According to reports, CBSE will likely reveal the Class X exam results in July, while the date for the Class XII exam results announcement has not yet been announced.

On June 15 and May 24, respectively, the CBSE wrapped up the Board examinations for Classes X and XII. This year, there were two terms for the exams, with Term-I taking place in November–December and Term-II taking place in June.

Students have been calling attention to the problem on Twitter by using hashtags like #BestofEitherTermsSubjectWise and #CBSEgivebestofeitherterms. “After taking into account the 30:70 weightage, CBSE will act unfairly. This is causing a lot of anxiety among the students, therefore I implore the authorities to provide some comfort. Please use the best of any term,” tweeted Twitter user Pahadi Sam. Isha, another user, wrote: “Please look at this and pay attention to the worries of thousands of kids! We are not requesting unearned points! posting a photo of the division of marks, “Our own marks and our own hardwork marks!”

Students have called for a change in the evaluation procedure, citing issues like COVID-19 and exam cheating as justifications. “Hello CBSE @cbseindia29,” wrote Rishi Yadav on Twitter. Our class has encountered numerous issues, including the second Corona wave at the beginning of the semester, online classes, the proliferation of cheating institutions in every state, the third wave, and more. Please provide #BestOfEitherTerms so that we can be treated fairly.

A notification that was going viral on social media was discovered earlier thanks to a circular from CBSE. According to the announcement, Term-I tests will receive 30% of the weighted average, while Term-II exams would receive the remaining 70%. The circular also said that the internal assessment’s weighting would not change. Through its Twitter account, CBSE informed all of the students that the message was a hoax.

Class XII students were evaluated in accordance with the assessment criteria in 2021 on the basis of 40% on unit tests, midterms, or pre-board exams, 30% on the best three Class X courses, 30% on Class XI, and 30% on Class XII.
