Jamia postponed Class-10th, 12th Board Exams due to surge in COVID-19 cases

Amid an increase in cases of COVID-19, Jamia Millia Islamia on Wednesday announced the postponement of class 10th and 12th exams at JMI schools that were due to take place from Thursday. In a statement, JMI said that due to the growing cases of coronavirus, the scheduled 2020-21 Annual Board Examination of regular and private students has been postponed.

“The Competent Authority, JMI recognizing the status of COVID-19 and looks at the safety and well-being of students, has postponed the Annual Board Examinations 2020-21 Class X and XII (Regular, Private) exams for JMI Schools scheduled to start from 15.04.2021 immediately,” said the notice. He further added that the decision was based on CBSE decisions in board tests.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday canceled class 10 exams and postponed class 12 exams due to an increase in COVID-19 cases. The decision was taken at a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The tests were to be held from May 4.
