Delhi Government Announces SoSE Results, Admission Process To Begin From September 13

Delhi government on Saturday announced the results of the Schools of Specialized Excellence (SoSE).

Students can view their results on the official SoSE website.

The admission process should start from Monday in all SoSEs. Students were invited to apply for the SoSEs via an online form on August 12. The application process closed on August 19. Approximately 26,687 registrations were made for the four types of SoSE (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Humanities, Performing and Visual Arts, and 21st Century High End Skills).

Admission aptitude tests were held from August 27 to 31 at 67 testing centers. Approximately 14,245 students took their tests on the dates indicated. A total of 2,794 students were selected in the process and offered admissions to STEM, Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills schools. Auditions for performing and visual arts schools are continuing and will end on September 13.

Final results for performing and visual arts schools will be announced early next week. The admissions process for the 2,794 selected students will start from September 13 in the respective SoSEs where the students have applied. In STEM schools, admissions are offered in grades 9 and 11, while in the rest of the schools, students will be admitted in class 9 only.

Across the 8 STEM schools, 960 students were offered admission to class 9 while 814 students were selected for class 11. There are 5 schools each in the humanities and high-end 21st century skills in which 420 and 600 students were selected respectively. Almost two-thirds of the selected students come from government-sponsored and government-subsidized schools, while the rest come from recognized private schools.

Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia congratulated all the students and their parents who were offered admission to the SoSEs. He interacted with all the principals and teachers in the school and urged them to set a new bar of excellence for the whole country.

He said: “In SoSEs, the role of teachers will change, and he / she will become a learning facilitator for every student. Gradually, all schools in Delhi will follow this model and adopt learner-centered education. system.”
