New Delhi: India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced the construction of a storm in the Arabian Sea on May 16.

The IMD said a low-pressure area was likely to be formed above the southeast coast of Arabia around the morning of May 14.

“It is very likely that it will move northwest to the southeast of the Arabian Sea and merge with the Lakshadweep area and gradually intensify. It could continue to be the Cyclonic Storm in the east of the Arabian Sea around May 16 and then move north-west, ”said the Department of Meteorology.

IMD warns of rain in Lakshadweep Islands, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Kerala.

With regard to wind warning, the IMD said squally weather with wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph is very likely over southeast Arabian Sea and adjoining Lakshadweep – Maldives area and equatorial Indian Ocean from May 14 morning. It is very likely to increase gradually becoming 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph over the same region from May 15 morning.

The meteorological department said the gradual increase was likely to be a Gale wind speed of 60-70 kmph extending up to 80 kmph eastwards in the middle of the Arabian Sea and connecting the southeastern Arabian Sea with Lakshadweep from May 16 in the morning.

IMD has warned of wind speeds of up to 40-50 kmph to 60 kmph off the coast of Kerala on May 14 and 45-55 kmph to reach 65 kmph off the coast of Kerala – Karnataka on May 15 and 16.

Alternatively, destructive winds of up to 40-50 kmph to 60 kmph are likely to be successful in the Comorin-Maldives area on May 14-15 and wind speeds of up to 40-50 kmph up to 60 kmph are likely to exit and shut down Maharashtra -Ga on the beach on May 16.

Marine conditions on the southeastern coast of Arabia and Lakshadweep – the area of ​​the Maldives and the equatorial Indian Ocean will deteriorate on May 14 and 15.
