Cyber Cell New Delhi: Twitter has again been surrounded by controversy amid the ongoing fight with the government. In the latest development, the Delhi Police Department registered a complaint against Twitter. This case was registered following a complaint from the National Commission for the Protection of the Rights of the Child (NCPCR). A case has been registered against Twitter under the POSCO Act and the Computer Act.
What is the problem?
The Delhi Police Cyber Celll recorded this case. It is alleged that child pornography material was continuously posted on Twitter. The NCPCR had also complained. In this case, the NCPCR also ordered DCP Cyber Cell to appear on June 29. The NCPCR had written two letters. One letter was written to a cyber cell and the other to the police at CP Delhi.
Twitter controversies
These days, Twitter is controversial. A complaint was also filed against Twitter for the bad map of India. In Bulandshahr, UP, a leader from Bajrang Dal filed a complaint about the bad card. Taking action on this, a case was filed against Manish Maheshwari, Managing Director of Twitter India. However, Twitter subsequently deleted the wrong card.
In fact, Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir have been shown separately on the map of India on Twitter, without showing the part of the country. An officer of Bajrang Dal lodged a complaint about this. Twitter India Managing Director Maheshwari was convicted under section 505 (2) of the IPC and section 74 of the IT (Amendment) Act 2008 for showing a wrong map of India.
Also on November 12 last year, Twitter showed the wrong map of India. Then it was said that Ladakh was part of China. He later apologized to the government and promised that he would not make such a mistake in the future.
