Edible oil prices drop: Edible oil prices in the country have fallen. Due to the drop in seed cotton and peanut prices on Saturday, there was also a drop in oil prices. Many edible oils, including soybean oil and palm oil, have become cheaper. In addition, soybean prices have also improved.

Cheaper soybean oil

Market sources said soybean growers are avoiding selling their crops at a lower price, which has led to lower prices for soybeans. On the other hand, local demand for DOC has also improved soybean oil seeds. He said the lower prices of light oils like soybeans and cottonseed compared to palm olein have affected demand for palmolein. This led to the closing of prices for crude palm oil (CPO) and palmolein oil at a lower rate. He said importing CPO and palmolein rather than light oils was an expensive affair.

Cheaper peanut oil of Rs 35 per kg

The prices of mustard and peanut oil and oilseeds, soybean oil, and many other oils and oilseeds remained at the previous level. Sources said that peanut oil prices have fallen by Rs 35 per kg, cottonseed oil by around Rs 23 per kg in the past two and a half months, but the government is expected to put in place a committee to ensure that the benefits of reduced prices reach ordinary consumers who constantly monitor prices.
