Bihar Board 2021: Application process for scrutiny tobegin from April 1, topper to get Rs 1 lakh

Patna: Bihar Board School Examination Board (BSEB) Patna announced the results of the Bihar Board’s intermediate exams on March 26. The board will now begin the scruitny process from April 1. Students who are dissatisfied with their results may review their answer booklets. The same application window will start on April 1 and end on April 7. Interested students can apply at biharboardonline.gov.in. It will cost Rs 70 per subject.

Bihar Board inter topper will get Rs 1 lakh, laptop, and Kindle e-book reader. The runners-up will be awarded Rs 75,00, a laptop and a Kindle e-book reader. Third place winners will receive Rs 75,000, a laptop, and a Kindle e-book reader. The fourth and fifth place winners will receive Rs 15,00 and one laptop each, the board announced.

This year, students who have topped in all three streams – arts, commerce, and science are girls. Madhu Bharti, of R. Lal College, Khagaria achieved Rank 1 in the arts stream with 463 marks. Sughandha Kumari, from S.N. Sinha College, Aurangabad, won Rank 1 in Commerce stream with 471 marks. Sonali Kumari, from SMT Parmeswai Devi Girls Uchhatar Madhyamik Sholl Biharsharif Nalanda won Rank 1 in science stream with 471 marks.

After three years of continuous increase, BSEB’s pass rate has dropped to 78.04 percent. Last year, the overall pass rate was recorded at 80.44%. Again this year, as last year, girls performed better than boys with 80.57 percent while boys recorded a pass rate of 75.71 percent.

Of the 13.5 lakh candidates who registered for the exams, 13 40,267 registered to appear for the Bihar Board’s intermediate exams. Of these, 10, 45, 950 students passed.
