According to a lawyer, NEET UG 2022 should be postponed.

Anubha Shrivastava Sahai, a well-known activist lawyer who recently took the issue of university exam uniformity to court, has stated that NEET-UG 2022 must be postponed due to the “very logical reasons” raised by students. Because previous counselling had been delayed, Anubha Shrivastava Sahai told TOI, it made sense to move the NEET-UG exam, which was scheduled for mid-July, forward.

“Counseling for the previous batch was delayed, and it is still ongoing in some states.” So, the July 2022 batch counselling and academic schedule will be pushed forward anyway, because I don’t believe there is the infrastructure or academic wherewithal to run both batches concurrently,” Sahai said, adding, “So, why not delay the entrance exam as well?” Students will have more time to prepare as a result of this.”

A large number of messages from students demanding a postponement were sent to Twitter, which has been the primary venue for all previous such demands. Some argue that the authorities should at the very least acknowledge their request. “We Will Respect Your Decision But Please Officially Put Some Notice About NEET..Mental Pressure Is Killing Us From Within.. please postpone NEET UG sir,” @DropperNeet wrote on Twitter.

Others were concerned about other entrance exams taking place at the same time. “(1) Droppers are getting less than 3MONTHS,” wrote @rohan22t. (2)-Examinations with different syllabuses, such as CUET NEET JEE MAIN with NO GAP (3) Army nursing candidates have only two months to prepare for a completely different exam pattern.” “This year’s NEET- (UG) – 2022 is scheduled for July 17th, and counselling was completed last week in April,” wrote @AIJNSA official. While in some states, counselling and seat allotment continued even after the NEET (UG)-2022 notification was released.”

“Not only does this affect the aspirants’ mental health, but it also affects their parents’ hopes of seeing their child become a DOCTOR,” @Uzziepixie wrote. Do you care about our mental health? It’s in response to a request from @DG NTA.”

According to Sahai, the increase in the online decibel level of students as they become more vocal in their demands is a positive sign. “The demands to cancel or postpone exams on such a large scale are something we are only seeing now. It had never been done before. Many times, students come to us with such cases, which we handle, and then there are times when we counsel them if the demand does not appear to be valid,” said Sahai.

Interacting with student organisations, she added, is also a great learning experience for her team. “We realise they are correct when they explain things to us with logical reasons to back up their demands.” As a result, it’s a good thing that students are now addressing these issues,” Sahai said.

These student demands will only gain traction once they gain political traction. “I believe that education and health care will soon become election issues. This student movement is just the beginning, and as more people become aware of the situation, public officials will be held accountable for their educational manifestos,” Sahai said.

Candidates from all over the country have written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, requesting a postponement of the NEET-UG 2022 exam.
