Medical Aspirants launched an online campaign for the Postponement of the NEET-UG 2022 exam.

NEET-UG 2022: Aspirants for the National Eligibility Cum Entrance Exam (NEET) UG 2022 have launched an online campaign urging Prime Minister Narendra Modi to postpone the entrance exam. Medical aspirants across the country expressed their concern on social media platforms using the hashtag #ModiJideferNEETUG and #NTAshiftNEETUG, requesting that the PM postpone the medical entrance exam. It is currently scheduled for July 17th.

The students claimed that NEET-UG 2021 counselling ended in March, leaving them with only three months to revise the entire syllabus. Furthermore, aspirants who will be taking the NEET for the first time said that they will only have a small window to focus solely on NEET UG 2022 because the Central Board of Secondary Board (CBSE) class 12 board examinations will end only on June 15. Aspirants demanded that NEET 2022 dates be pushed back by at least four to six weeks.

The clash with the dates of other national-level entrance tests is another source of concern for NEET aspirants. Students who are applying for courses through the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) and NEET 2022 may not have enough time to concentrate on the medical entrance exam.

Over 10,000 people had previously written to the National Testing Agency (NTA) with their demands. In the first two weeks of July, the CUET for admissions to UG courses offered by various central universities, including Delhi University, Jamia, and JNU, will be held. Students argued that the new academic session would begin in February of the following year. As a result, rather than allocating only 6 months to the counselling process, the NTA and government should allocate an additional 40-60 days to aspirants to prepare for the exams.
