A Girl suicide case was reported in Tamil Nadu district due to the fear of not clearing the NEET exam 2021

Reportedly, Kanimozhi had scored 562 out of 600 in the 12th standard examination.

ARIYALUR: Days after a 19-year-old boy committed suicide before the scheduled NEET exam 2021, a student in Sathampadi village, Ariyalur district, committed suicide for fear of not passing the Medical Entrance Exam.

The victim was identified as K Kanimozhi, the younger daughter of the Karunanidhi couple and Vijayalakshmi who works as lawyers.

Police said the victim who took the exam on Sunday felt depressed over the past two days because she found the exam hard to take.

“The daughter after taking the exam explained to her parents that the paper was difficult and she could not clear it. Although their parents offered their support, the victim was unhappy. After the father and her mother went to a family function in the nearby town, the girl took the extreme step, “said a policeman.

Apparently, Kanimozhi scored 562 out of 600 points on the 12th standard exam.

This is the second death in the past few days from the NEET exam, after Dhanush (19), a Salem native who committed suicide hours before the NEET exam scheduled for Sunday.

Kanimozhi’s death has left a veil of sadness on Ariyalur District, as the district has seen up to three suicide deaths from the NEET exam in recent years. After Anitha’s death in 2017, Vignesh from the same district took the extreme step in 2020.

It should also be noted that the DMK government on Monday passed a bill requiring the abolition of national level entrance exams for medical admission for Tamil Nadu students. The bill was passed with the support of all lawmakers banning BJP members.
