Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro were introduced as the first two smartphones in 2022. Both phones come with the latest Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. Xiaomi announced last month that it would be the first to equip its phones with a chip.
It will be competing soon with the launch of the OnePlus 10 Pro and Realme GT 2 Pro in early January. Xiaomi also unveiled the third Xiaomi 12X smartphone during the same launch event.
Xiaomi’s latest smartphones were introduced during an online event in China. They won this year’s Mi 11 smartphones.

Price for Xiaomi 12 starts at 363 yuan (approximately Rs 43,362) in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, 3999 yuan (approximately Rs 46,879) with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant and 4399 yuan (approximately 252GB of RAM, 52GB of 52GB).
Price for Xiaomi 12 Pro starts at 4699 yuan (approximately Rs 55,000) in 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, 4999 yuan (approximately Rs 58,600) with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage variant and -5399 (approximately Rs 965 63GB) and RAM2GB variant.
Features of Xiaomi 12
Xiaomi 12 is a solid phone from the company. For the first time in years. The phone has a 6.28 inch full-HD + display (1,080 × 2,400 pixels) AMOLED with a resolution of 120Hz, 419ppi pixel density, 20: 9 aspect ratio, HDR10 + support, and 1,100 nits of high brightness.
Xiaomi used a 12-bit phone panel with an A + rating from DisplayMate. The display is protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus.
Xiaomi 12 is powered by Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC. It runs MIUI 13 based on Android 12. The smartphone comes with a triple rear camera unit that includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 13-megapixel ultra-wide sensor and a telephoto sensor. The phone has a 20-megapixel selfie camera.
The new Xiaomi phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with 67W fast charging support. It also supports 50W wireless charging.
The phone comes with speakers plugged in by Harman Kardon. The phone supports both Dolby Atmos and Dolby Vision. The smartphone weighs 180 grams.
Features of Xiaomi 12 Pro
Xiaomi 12 Pro is the company’s leading phone of 2022. It comes with a large 6.73-inch E5 AMOLED LTPO display with a resolution of 3,200 × 1,440 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, and a touch rate of 480Hz.
Xiaomi used a 10-bit panel in the Xiaomi 12 Pro with a maximum brightness of 1,500 nits. This display size makes the Xiaomi 12 Pro larger than the iPhone 13 Pro Max.
The phone packs the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and uses the Android 12-based MIUI 13. It also packs a 4600 mAh battery supported by 120W cables, 50W wireless charging and 10W wireless charging.
The Xiaomi 12 Pro’s three rear camera unit includes a 50-megapixel main sensor, a 50-megapixel telephoto sensor, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide sensor. There is a 32-megapixel selfie shooter on the front.
