WhatsApp works on the public tab, features voice recording as seen in the latest beta

WhatsApp is constantly adding new features to improve user experience in its area. In the wake of such developments, it has been found that the company is now operating on a new public tab for its operating system.

The information was revealed by a feature tracker that said the feature would allow team managers to add specific groups to “Public”. These groups will then be listed under the Community tab together.

WABetaInfo reports that the messaging platform is currently upgrading the public tab feature. Feature seen in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.6.9.

Although the feature is not yet visible, the feature tracking feature became a screenshot showing the thumbnail of the public tab. A new icon replaces the existing camera icon in an existing version.

The Community Tab is said to be a shortcut to the “Community Home” feature, which is currently under construction. Communities can be secretly enclosed spaces that will allow team managers to have better control over their teams.

Apart from this, WhatsApp has pushed a new feature in its latest Beta version. This allows beta testers on Android to pause and restart voice recording, according to the feature tracker.

Android users who are currently subscribed to the WhatsApp beta version can upgrade to version 2.22.6.9 to get the new feature.

It is noteworthy that the latest version shows sound waves when recording a voice note.

WhatsApp is yet to launch a community feature test. Whenever that happens, beta testers will be able to use it before it sees a complete release.

WhatsApp is yet to reveal details about this feature, so it will not be said when this feature will be available for public use.

That being said, the voice suspension feature and the restart feature should be removed soon considering it is already in beta testing.
