WhatsApp reportedly plans to add 2-step verification, to provide additional security, as many people rely on this messaging app for both work and personal use.

While the service already provides biometric authentication support on the web and desktop version, the new one will provide users with additional protection and protection against scams.

Desktop and web users will soon be able to set up 2-step verification. As with WaBetaInfo shared a screenshot, one will get two options to enable this feature. WhatsApp will allow you to set a PIN or add an email address.

“When registering your WhatsApp account, after entering the 6-digit code, a personal PIN will be required to access the account.

WhatsApp wants to make it easier to manage 2-step verification everywhere, so they are working to introduce this feature to the web / desktop client in future updates, ”the report said.

The same feature is already available for mobile users. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. But WhatsApp is expected to offer this feature this year.

In the meantime, mobile users can allow the fingerprint verification feature as well as 2-step verification.
