UP Election 2022: BJP announces 17 more candidates, Check the candidate’s name

UP Election 2022: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday released a list of 17 candidates ahead of assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.

UP Law Minister Brajesh Pathak filed his candidacy to fight the election from the seat of Lucknow Cantt.

While congratulating the candidates, the official Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Twitter account tweeted the list of names that will contest the upcoming polls in the state.

Meanwhile, Swati Singh, the Minister of State (Independence) for Women’s Welfare in Yogi Adityanath’s government did not receive Sarojini Nagar’s ticket. Rajeshwar Singh will fight from the seat.

Speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Hriday Narayan Dixit was also denied a ticket, Ashutosh Shukla will run in the Bhagwantnagar assembly constituency.

On the other hand, BJP MP for Lucknow North, Dr. Neeraj Bora, was declared a candidate again. Apart from that, Cabinet Minister Ashutosh Tandon was nominated as Lucknow East’s candidate.

In 2017, the BJP won eight out of nine seats in the Lucknow district. To maintain this victory in 2022 as well, the party had to put in a lot of effort in the selection of the candidate. After declaring the Lucknow candidate on Tuesday afternoon, a BJP central committee meeting was held in Delhi in the evening.

Elections for the 403 Assembly seats in Uttar Pradesh will be held in seven phases (February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 3, and March 7). The counting of votes will take place on March 10.
