Union Health Ministry May Postpone NEET MDS 2022 Exam By 4-6 Weeks

National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET MDS 2022 exam has been postponed for four to six weeks. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare announced today, February 17, the extension of the NEET MDS 2022 exam date. Also, the internship end date has been set to July 31 instead of March 31 this year.

NEET MDS 2022 was supposed to take place on March 6 but now that it has been postponed, new dates would be announced soon on the official website.

News agency ANI reported the news of the postponement of NEET MDS 2022 and wrote, “The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has extended the date of NEET-MDS 2022 from 4 to 6 weeks and the date of end of mandatory rotating internship for eligibility for admission to MDS courses set for July 31 instead of March 31 this year.

Students on social media were asking to postpone the NEET MDS 2022 exam which was scheduled to take place on March 6, 2022. The demand for postponement of NEET MDS 2022 was intensified after the Ministry of Health decided to postpone the NEET exam PG 2022 from 6 to 8 weeks. February 4, 2022. Following this, the NEET MDS 2022 aspirants got upset as the authorities did not consider their problems.

The Ministry of Health has also extended the duration of the NEET 2022 MDS internship by 2 months and candidates can complete their internship before July 31 instead of March 31, 2022. The internship is one of the basic eligibility criteria for candidates which makes them eligible to take the NEET MDS. 2022.

The NEET MDS 2022 registration ended on January 24, 2022 and the exam was scheduled to be held on March 6, 2022, giving only 2 months of preparation time to candidates, and this was also one of the reasons for their request for postponement of examination.

“It is informed that the matter has been examined within this Ministry and in order to bring parity between the NEET-MDS 2022 and NEET-PG 2022 examination, it has been decided by the Competent Authority that the date for the conduct of NEET-MDS 2022 exam may be postponed for 4 to 6 weeks and preferably around the same date as NEET-PG 2022,” the letter from the Union Health Ministry states.

“It has also been decided by the Competent Authority that the date of completion of a compulsory rotating internship for eligibility for admission to the MDS courses may be set for July 31, 2022 instead of March 31, 2022”, specifies the Ministry of Health and Family.
