‘The Kashmir Files’ Gets Tax-Free In Different States – Know More Here

The Kashmir Files, a book released on March 11th of 2022, has received a great deal of attention and acclaim from the Indian audience.

It depicts the departure of Kashmiri Hindus from Kashmir after the initiation of systematic executions by Pakistan-backed militants in the region. 

Many ministers from states, including the Prime Minister of India, have praised the film.

The Kashmir Files has been granted tax-free status by the Gujarat government, which was announced on Sunday. Other states, including Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, and Karnataka have joined Gujarat in exempting this film from paying entertainment taxes.

Pramod Sawant, the former chief minister of Goa and a leading member of the BJP, stated today that his upcoming film would be exempt from taxation in Goa.

Earlier this evening, the Tripura government also decided to make the movie ‘The Kashmir Files’ tax-free.

Manohar Lal Khattar, the chief minister of Haryana, made the film tax-free in order to encourage more young people to see it.

Earlier this year, Madhya Pradesh’s Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan declared that the film would be tax-free in the state. He said that everyone should have a chance to see it.

Actress Yami Gautam also tweeted about her experience with being married to a Kashmiri Pandit, and how relatable it is for other people in similar situations.

The movie stars Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty, Darshan Kumar and Pallavi Joshi in lead roles.
