New Delhi: After many delays and postponements due to the Omicron scare, filmmaker Rajamouli has finally set the release date for his magnum opus ‘RRR’. The powerful drama hits theaters worldwide on March 25.
The makers used the film’s official social media handle and announced the date by sharing a poster.
Earlier, the makers had locked two dates for the film’s release and let the public know about it by sharing a post. It read: “If the pandemic situation in the country improves and all cinemas open to operate at full capacity, we are ready to release the film on March 18, 2022. Otherwise, RRR will be released on April 28. 2022.”
The film, which was previously scheduled to be released on January 7, was delayed as cinemas were closed and operating at 50% capacity, due to growing fear of Omicron in the country.
“RRR” is a fictional story of Indian revolutionaries in the 1920s. The film stars southern megastars Junior NTR and Ram Charan in the lead roles of Ram and Bheem. Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt is playing one of the female leads while Ajay Devgn will also play a pivotal role in the film. The public will finally be entitled to the long-awaited film on March 25.
