S Jaishankar Meets US Lawmakers on vaccine issues

Washington: Foreign Minister S Jaishankar met with influential U.S. lawyers from both the Democratic and Republican parties on Thursday and discussed Quad-related developments and cooperation on immunization with them.
“We have discussed Quad-related developments and our cooperation in vaccines. Respect their leadership in building stronger relationships,” Mr Jaishankar said after his meeting with Congressman Gregory Meeks, chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee, and its member, Congressman Michael McCaul, S Jaishankar.
the minister also had a “good conversation” with House India Caucus chairpersons, Congressman Brad Bradman of the Democratic Party and Congressman Steve Chabot of the Republican Party.

“The American Congress has become a major pillar of support as India faces the challenge of Covid,” Mr Jaishankar tweeted.
All four American lawmakers were powerful advocates of India-US relations.

In a tweet, Mr Sherman said he had learned how India is fighting COVID-19 and how it is working to divide its economy from China.
“Secretary Blinken and Austin traveled to Japan and Korea, and Secretary Austin’s trip to India, at the beginning of the new government, strengthened America’s role as a force in the Pacific, and pointed to China and the world that the United States is back on the field with our allies and allies.”
