Pulwama: The commander of LeT Abu Huraira, two local terrorists killed in South Kashmir; Operation in progress

Pulwama: Two unidentified activists were shot dead Wednesday during a meeting with security forces in the town of Pulwama, in southern Kashmir. Security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the town of Pulwama following reports of the presence of militants in that town.

Jammu and Kashmir police said the search operation turned into an encounter after militants opened fire on security forces.

The official said security personnel was deployed to Pulwama town where an encounter broke out. The area has been cordoned off and the operation is underway.

The Kashmiri IGP told the ANI news agency that the Pakistani commander of LeT Aijaz, aka Abu Huraira, was killed along with 2 local terrorists.

Earlier on July 8, two terrorists were killed in a clash with security forces in Pulwama. The meeting took place at a time when some areas of the valley remained closed to mark the completion of five years after the murder of Hizbul terrorist commander Mujahideen Burhan Wani.

On the same day, two terrorists were also killed in a clash in Kulgam, Jammu, and Kashmir. The terrorists killed were identified as Kifayat Ramzan Sofi of the terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba and Inayat Ahmed Dar from Al Badr.
