Postpone JEE Main Exam 2022, Aspirants Demand

Since the announcement of the dates for the JEE Main Exam 2022 by the National Testing Agency (NTA), students have been demanding the postponement of the exam.

The students who are demanding to postpone the JEE Main exam 2022 and also demanding four attempts this year, took to social media platforms to make their voices heard.

The exam was conducted four times last year to offer flexibility to students and chances to improve their scores, given the Covid-19 pandemic situation.

“Somebody on Twitter said that JEE Main should be conducted in three or four attempts, with the first one in May and the second in July. If that’s not possible, then the whole thing should be done in May.”

Another student wrote, “We don’t have four attempts; give us two fair attempts with a 30-40 gap in the conduct of both the examinations.”

Exams (Term 1 & Term 2). Therefore 4 attempts will ensure that all students from every board get at least 2-3 fair chances,” wrote another Twitter user.

@DG_NTA @VineetJo we demand at least a considerable amount of gap between the two attempts of jee mains cuz we are having class 12 boards in between 🥺. As a result we will not be able to rectify our mistakes after 1st attempt.

The JEE Main 2022 will be conducted in two sessions in the academic session 2022-23. Candidates can apply for the exam until 5 p.m. on March 31 and pay the exam fees online until 11.30 p.m. on the same day.

There are two papers in the Joint Entrance Examination-Main (JEE-Main). The first paper is for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at NITs, IIITs, and other centrally financed technical institutions and universities, funded and recognized by participating state governments. It’s also a qualifying exam for JEE (Advanced), used to get into IITs.

In 2021, the exam was given more than once to give students more flexibility and an opportunity to improve their grades. The first phase took place in February, with the second taking place in March.

The COVID-19 pandemic’s second wave postponed the subsequent phases that were supposed to start in April and May. The final two phases took place in August and September of last year.
