The OnePlus Nord 2 5G has been officially certified by the company for media releases and will be powered by the MediaTek Dimension 1200-AI SoC.
There have been rumors over the phone for a long time, but many details are still valid.
The OnePlus Nord 2, as the name suggests, will be a successor to the original OnePlus Nord launched in July last year. While the company did not share a release date, previous leaks suggest it could be July 24th.
OnePlus shared media release saying it has partnered with MediaTek to bring the Dimensity 1200-AI SoC to the OnePlus Nord 2 5G.
This confirms the phone name and SoC. OnePlus said it has worked with MediaTek to improve AI-based features of the Dimension 1200 SoC, making the MediaTek Dimension 1200-AI SoC available.
This makes the OnePlus Nord 2 5G the first phone to come with MediaTek SoC.
The OnePlus Nord 2 5G will come with many features for AI. The AIPhoto developer is able to detect up to 22 events and automatically adjust the tonesto color to ensure high quality images.
With video, it can produce live HDR effects in real time, during recording. AI Color Boost technology, AI Resolution Boost, and Smart Ambient Display technology work together to provide a more powerful display.
The toys, it offers support for high-level refreshment games, low latency, improved temperature management, and active power consumption.
JC Hsu, Corporate VP and GM of MediaTek’s Wireless Communications Business Unit said, “ID Dimension 1200-AI is the first example of MediaTek’s Dimension Open Resource Architecture, using the powerful power of the Dimension 1200 5G chipset to deliver information designed for OnePlus users. ”
Last month, allegations of the release of the OnePlus Nord 2 revealed a triple rear camera setting and a fist cut for a selfie camera.
As of now, there is no official date for the release of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G but the company has recently mocked the phone on Twitter suggesting it could be launched soon.
Previous leaks have signaled the launch of July 24 but things should be clear in the coming days.
