Omicron Cases- Maharashtra on Sunday detected seven more Omicron Cases of the Omicron variant of Covid-19, and nine cases of the Omicron variant were detected in Jaipur, Rajasthan, bringing the country’s total to 21.
A health official said seven people in Pune district tested positive for the Omicron variant.
The official said it was a woman who had come from Nigeria with her two daughters to meet her brother in the neighboring area of Pimpri Chinchwad.
He added that the woman’s brother and his two daughters have also tested positive for the variant, PTI reported.
The official added that another case is of a man from Pune who returned from Finland in November last week.
This is the eighth case in Maharashtra, as a marine engineer in Thane district tested positive for the Omicron variant.
The 33-year-old man is currently undergoing treatment at a Covid-19 health center in the city of Kalyan, about 50 km from Mumbai.
Earlier today, India reported its fifth case of Delhi’s Omicron variant.
The country detected its first two cases of the Omicron variant from Karnataka earlier this week, while the third and fourth cases were reported in Jamnagar and Mumbai in Gujarat, respectively.
