The bench noted that seats are never usually vacant in government colleges, but rather in private colleges. “We have an assumption, that the seats in the government colleges are not vacant. It is a reasonable assumption. It seems that all the haste is to fill the vacant seats,” he noted.

The judiciary, during a hearing of more than two hours, stressed that the interest of the students is much higher than that of the establishments and private establishments which made investments, and in this scenario, a balance must be found. .

The bench noted: “Now all the questions are coming from general medicine. What does it do, is it privileging students who have done general medicine to the detriment of all the other nourishing specialties?”

Regarding the program change, the judiciary told counsel for the National Board of Examinations (NBE), “What the rush was. You have a model review that ran from 2018 to 2020. . “.

The bench told the Center to consider restoring the old program and making changes starting next year. Giving the Center’s lawyer a day, the judiciary said: “think and queue.” The judiciary will continue to hear the case on Wednesday. The Center told the Supreme Court that it has ruled that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) super specialty exam for 2021 can be postponed for a period of two months and be held from January 10 to 11, 2022. .

Responding to a plea against the PG Super Specialty 2021 (NEET) Exam Program, the Center said: “In terms of the revised scheme, applicants are going to be tested / judged on the program they have already studied in their position. -graduate course and have qualified for the final exam of their respective universities on the basis of the same curriculum. Therefore, the modified curriculum does not require applicants to study something different from what they have not already studied “.

The Centre’s affidavit was filed in response to a plea from Prateek Rastogi and 40 post-graduate doctors, who challenged the abrupt last-minute changes, saying they were made to favor general practice applicants.
