NEET 2021: Examination to be conducted on August 1 through pen and paper mode

New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the date for undergraduate medical entrance examination (NEET 2021). The entrance examination will be conducted on August 1 through pen and paper mode. As per the notification released by NTA, the examination will be conducted in 11 languages along with Hindi and English. NTA also mentioned the details of syllabus, eligibility criteria for age, reservation, categorisation of seats, examination fee, cities of examination, etc. in the notification.

The NEET examination is conducted for admission to MBBS, BUMS, BAMS, BDS, BSMS, BHMS courses. The result of NEET can also be used for admission in nursing schools/colleges of central and state government as well as in JIPMER, B.Sc (nursing) and B.Sc. (Life Sciences) courses in accordance with the guidelines.

It is to be noted that the NEET examination includes three subjects – Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The duration of this examination is three hours. It also includes negative marking for the incorrect answers. The questions are of four marks each. Every correct answer will give you for marks while an incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one mark. It is not advisable to mark the option unless you are completely sure.

Last year, the examination was held on September 13, 2020 amid controversies during COVID pandemic situations.
