New Delhi: After being released on bail the night before, Union Minister Narayan Rane received a notice from Nashik police on Wednesday morning as part of an FIR against him. Nashik Police asked the Union Minister to report to the police station on September 2.

Union Minister Rane sparked controversy with his remarks slapping Maharashtra’s chief minister for what he claimed was his “ignorance of the year of India’s independence.”

Maharashtra police arrested Rane on Tuesday for his “slapping” remark against Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, as an aggressive Shiv Sena protested vehemently across the state. Later that day, Raigad Magistrates’ Court granted him bail in one of the FIRs filed against him for allegedly making derogatory statements against CM Thackeray.

During his Jan Ashirvad Yatra in Raigad, Union Minister Narayan Rane said he wanted to “give a tight slap” to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray, as the latter would have forgotten the year where the Indian gained independence in his August 15 speech to citizens.

Rane claimed Thackeray was to check the year of Independence Day with his leaders midway through that day’s speech.

Later, Pune Police and Nashik Cyber ​​Police recorded FIRs following a complaint by Yuva Sena, for using objectionable language against Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray on Monday.

The FIR was registered under Articles 189 of the IPC (threat of prejudice to an official), 504 (intentional insult aimed at causing a breach of public order), and 505 (statements likely to harm the public interest). public).
