An Indian-born diamantaire brother who fled Mehul Choksi, who also failed to work for the bank, allegedly promised election money to Dominican Leader Lennox Linton in protest of Mehul Choksi’s idea of kidnapping, the Associates Times reported, citing sources.
According to the ANI news agency, sources said Chetan Chinubhai Choksi met with Dominican Leader Lennox Linton on May 30, where they discussed a number of issues related to Mehul Choksi’s arrest and agreed to discuss the matter in Parliament.

They also confirmed to the Associates Times that Chetan Chinubhai Choksi had revealed during talks that Mehul Choksi had arrived in Dominica alone, but they needed the help of opponents to deal with the case in court and against the Dominican government to make them believe he had been kidnapped by Antiguan and Indian police.
Sources said Chetan Chinubhai Choksi had given Lennox Linton tokens of USD 200,000 and promised him more than a million rand in the upcoming elections, and Lennox Linton would issue statements praising Mehul Choksi.
