Covid-19 update– India has registered over 38,164 new Covid cases in the last 24 hours
Covid-19 update: India is reporting 38,164 new Covid cases, 38,660 recoveries, and 499 deaths in the past 24 hours, according to the Union Ministry of Health.

Maharashtra continues to witness a spike in cases
Maharashtra saw a further increase of 9,000 COVID-19 cases on Sunday, while new recoveries fell to 5,756 as the number of active cases rose again to 1,034,86.
With 167 deaths, the cumulative death toll rose to 1,27,031 and the case fatality rate stood at 2.04%. The total number of cases reached 62,14,190, while cumulative recoveries rose to 59,80,350, with the recovery rate falling to 96.24%.
The high volume of cases is a big concern: Kerala CM
Kerala recorded 16,148 new cases of Covid-19 on Saturday, the highest in a month, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said. “The high volume of cases is a great concern and he stressed the need for more vigilance and surveillance,” Vijayan said at a press conference.
In the past 24 hours, the country has reported 38,079 cases of Covid-19, and the state’s contribution was around 40% of the total number of national cases. The state’s testing positivity has remained at 10.76% while the national average is below 3%. The state’s weekly average was over 14,000 cases with 10% TPR.
