Kerala

Kerala reported an increase in Covid cases on Wednesday as the state recorded 11,079 new cases and 123 deaths in the past 24 hours. The daily spike in cases brought the total number of cases to 48 20,698 and deaths to 26,571.

The state has shown a drop in the number of new daily cases after crossing the 30,000 mark after the Onam festival in August.

With 9,972 more people recovering from the virus since Tuesday, total recoveries have reached 46,95,904 and active cases have fallen to 97,630, according to a state government statement.

Among the 14 districts, Ernakulam recorded the highest number of cases with 1,794, followed by Kozhikode (1,155), Thiruvananthapuram (1,125), Thrissur (1,111), and Kottayam (925).

Maharashtra

The daily count of coronavirus infections in Maharashtra remained above 2,000 for the second day in a row on Wednesday, bringing its total number of cases to 65,83896, the state health department said. , reported PTI.
