India, Bangladesh sign 5 key pacts – PM Modi hails ‘productive’ meeting with Sheikh Hasina

India and Bangladesh signed five MoUs to further strengthen relations between the two countries during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s summit with Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (March 27, 2021).
India and Bangladesh have signed MoUs in key areas such as disaster risk management, sports and youth affairs, trade, technology and more.
Prime Minister Modi held face-to-face talks with Sheikh Hasina followed by a delegation-level meeting.
New Delhi: India and Bangladesh signed five MoUs to further strengthen relations between the two countries during the meeting of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Bangladeshi counterpart Sheikh Hasina on Saturday (March 27, 2021). Prime Minister Modi has left India after concluding his two-day visit to Bangladesh.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister announced: “India and Bangladesh have signed MoUs in key areas such as disaster management, sports and youth affairs, trade, technology and so on. This will strengthen our development relations and benefit our people, especially the youth.”

Prime Minister Modi, who visited Bangladesh on his first overseas trip since the outbreak of the coronavirus, said he had a “good meeting”. He held one-on-one discussions with Hasina followed by a delegation-level meeting, which lasted more than an hour.

They reviewed the full range of bilateral relations and discussed ways to deepen economic and cultural connections in the future.
