How to backup WhatsApp photos, chats and enable security feature

Step 1: Just click on the three-dot icon, which appears in the upper right corner of the main screen.

Step 2: Just click on Settings and navigate to Conversations> Chat Backup> Back up Google Drive.

Step 3: Choose a backup frequency without saying “Never.”

Note: You can set a backup copy of Daily, Weekly or Monthly. There is also an option to select “Only when I tap Make Backup.”

We never recommend that you choose this option as you will need to go to settings every time you remember to make a copy of the chat, which is very annoying.

It is always best to choose the Daily or Weekly option. This way, your conversations will be automatically backed up from time to time and you won’t have to worry about losing them.

Step 4: Now, select the Google account from which you would like to make a backup copy of your chat history.

Step 5: If you do not have a Google account connected, you must click “Add Account” when prompted and enter your login details.

Step 6: Tap Backup above to select the network you want to backup.

Note: Remember that if you choose to make a backup copy of your mobile data network, you may lose a lot of data.

It is always best to make a backup copy of anything using Wi-Fi and save mobile data in an emergency.

How can you enable the security feature of WhatsApp backups?
As you will be backing up your conversations with a third party service, WhatsApp allows you to set up an extra layer of security.

Users can simply turn on encryption at the edge to back up your Google Drive.

Step 1: Open WhatsApp and press More Options> Settings> Conversations> Chat Backup> Encrypted backup end to end.

Step 2: Tap “Open.”

Step 3: Now, create a password or use a 64-character encryption key instead.

Step 4: Tap create to create your own encrypted backup.
